Digital Transformation Programs
The SHIELD Learn Program aims to bring digital transformation to youths in underserved communities by building their technical capacity, enabling them to pursue diverse career paths, including becoming social entrepreneurs, securing employment in the tech industry, becoming talented freelancers or launching traditional businesses. Our beneficiaries benefit from our training programs where they acquire in-demand skills in tech, social entrepreneurship, project management and vocational courses. By providing access to quality education and real-world experiences, we empower our beneficiaries to thrive in the modern economy and drive socio-economic development in underserved communities.
Social Entrepreneurship Programs
Our Social Venture Builders fellowship is a year long immersive acceleration program, combining advanced training, mentorship from industry experts, and access to essential resources to empower entrepreneurs from underserved communities to launch sustainable social enterprises. Fellows will work on solving real-world challenges affecting key sectors in their communities such as education, health, environment, tourism, SMEs, and the circular economy. The program accepts 30 fellows each year to work on-site at the SHIELD’s innovation centre in Kibera, Nairobi. Participants will collaborate with students, researchers, partners, and other entrepreneurs, fostering connections and synergies within our community.

Cutting-edge research and development initiatives focusing on industrial research, feasibility studies, and applied research. SIDLabs aims to push the boundaries of innovation, contributing valuable insights and advancements across various industries.
